“I’ve used RIAA for both Wills and Nuptial Agreements, as well as Deed in Trust. They are an intelligent and friendly group of people, looking out for their clients. The only ding is 1) change of attorneys mid-case due to the departure of previous and 2) an IT issue that delayed work for a few weeks. This is not the fault of the law firm so would still very much recommend.”

“We used James McMullan and Charlotte Barbaroussis to have our Wills/LPAs amended. We felt that this process was a little more complex than usual. However, we were given suitable options in the present financial climate, to all questions asked and additional guidance on matters we had overlooked. We were kept informed of the process and contacted by Charlotte every step of the way and found her friendly, personable but polished, approachable and professional.”

“I had my initial free consultation with Vandana Chitroda who was knowledgeable and excellent. When she left the firm, Pippa Marshall took over my case and together with Maheen Khalid, they both saw me through the remainder of my Divorce proceedings to an amicable end.

Pippa is competent, thorough, and knowledgeable and was spot on with her advice and together with Maheen Khalid who played an extremely important supporting role throughout.

James McMullan and Charlotte provided exceptional service with clear guidance on the preparation of my Will.

I highly recommend the Firm as I feel they will guide appropriately and endeavour for the best outcome for their client and I trust their advice completely. Whilst I do not wish the situation on anyone, but somehow if you do find yourself in this difficult position, these are the Team you can trust completely. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.”

James McMullan, at what was Barker Gillette, has looked after my affairs for many years now and it is reassuring to have solicitors that I trust implicitly. Charlotte was an excellent addition to the team and I was impressed from her arrival with her prompt replies and general efficiency.”

“We needed an LPA for my elderly father, James was kind, courteous, helpful and professional from the beginning to the end. He made a difficult process easier and explained each decision that had to be made throughout the process. Thank you.”

Andrea Jennings, August 2023

“The setting for my discussions with RIAA Barker Gillette (RIAABG) arose from a natural progression of their assistance in the preparation of my Will, Probate requirements, Property Title Transfer and finally to the preparation of my Powers of Attorney for property & finance & health & welfare. I wanted a solicitor who was willing to work alongside my brother and my 2 children and to freely share all discussions with them, and I was made to feel comfortable that RIAABG would meet this role at all times.

I valued that RIAABG encouraged communication by phone, e-mail and face-to-face for the final sign-off of documents. At all times, the lead solicitor could be contacted easily. Indeed, the entire task of the LPA’s was made to look simple as it was noted that background preparation was always meticulously carried out to make the discussions very focused and to minimize any recycle of discussions. The explanations were important for me as I wanted to understand the significance of the legal language used without receiving a lecture and I got the confidence these documents would be completed correctly and in accordance with my wishes.

At all times, the communication was received within 2 days on pending issues with an explanation on the options to consider or suggestions to move forward whilst maintaining my wishes. The briefings were always clear, and we felt comfortable asking simple questions. The explanation of the role of the Office of the Public Guardian and the role of my appointed Attorneys were valuable when discussed as a group with our solicitor to fully understand the reasons and consequences of selected options.

So I must thank our solicitor for the politeness and responsiveness showed to us and the informed professional views we received at all times. We were made to feel welcome. Thank you.”
