Senior Associate Solicitor

Stella Meytanis is a specialist commercial real estate solicitor with over 20 years of experience in acquisitions, disposals, commercial landlord and tenant, site and asset management, property finance, refinancing, and investment.

Stella’s clients include developers, high-net-worth individuals and investors, focusing on the retail, office and industrial sectors.

Stella supports clients in achieving their ultimate commercial objectives by focusing on the details and ensuring that their transactions complete within a specified timeframe.

Stella Meytanis joined RIAA Barker Gillette in 2022 from SJS Law, having been a senior associate at Howard Kennedy, and works closely with Partner and Head of Commercial Real Estate, Brinda Granthrai.

Expertise

Financing

Stella has worked alongside her banking colleagues for developers and property investors in connection with the property related aspects of the financing of commercial and mixed-use schemes. This work includes the preparation of CLLS Certificate of Titles, dealing with lender’s property related conditions to the proposed financing and reviewing and approving the property related aspects of facility agreements.

Investment

Stella has particular experience in investment-related property transactions, including the acquisition and disposal of single and multi-let properties for both corporate and individual clients. This work has included disposing of freehold properties subject to leases with rent guarantees, the grant of concurrent leases subject to occupational leases of restaurant and retail premises and the acquisition and leaseback of a mixed-use development scheme incorporating provisions for payment of rent based on the income derived from the property.

Landlord and tenant

Landlord and tenant work includes assisting clients specialising in urban regeneration projects with large portfolios of mixed-use schemes in the preparation and negotiation of conditional and non-conditional agreements for lease, rack-rent and turnover leases and other related management work.
