Corporate and Commercial Consultant

Peter joined RIAA Barker Gillette (UK) LLP in February 2026 as a Corporate and Commercial Consultant. He is an experienced commercial lawyer with particular expertise in the hospitality, leisure and arts sectors, advising clients in the UK and internationally on a wide range of corporate, commercial and intellectual property matters.

Peter is known for his pragmatic, risk-focused approach. He works closely with clients to identify legal risks and opportunities, shape effective strategies and support the successful delivery of complex projects. His advice is commercially driven, discreet and solution-oriented, with experience spanning transactional work, operational matters and alternative dispute resolution.

Peter has particular expertise advising operators, owners and investors within the hospitality and leisure sectors. He provides pragmatic guidance on sector-specific legal and regulatory issues, helping clients manage risk while pursuing growth, innovation and international projects and expansion.

Arts and Cultural Sector Matters

Peter advises individuals and organisations within the arts sector on commercial arrangements and dispute resolution. His approach is discreet, strategic and tailored to the unique sensitivities of the sector. He is a WIPO panel mediator.

Risk Management and Dispute Resolution

Peter works closely with clients to identify legal risks and opportunities, helping them develop effective strategies to avoid disputes wherever possible. Where issues arise, he supports clients through negotiation and alternative dispute resolution with a clear, solutions-led focus.
