Patrice Lawrence

Senior Associate Solicitor

Patrice studied Law at the University of Sheffield and graduated with an honours degree in 2006. She qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and has since developed significant experience in a wide range of private client matters. Over the course of her career, Patrice has built expertise in wills, lasting powers of attorney, deputyship applications, probate and the resolution of probate disputes.

In the years immediately following her qualification, Patrice worked across a broad spectrum of private client work. This enabled her to develop a strong understanding of the issues that individuals and families often face when planning for the future or dealing with the loss of a loved one. Drawing on this foundation, Patrice chose to concentrate her practice on wills and probate from 2013 onwards, establishing herself as a trusted adviser in this specialist area.

Her work today covers the preparation of wills tailored to individual circumstances, advice on succession and inheritance planning, and guidance on setting up and administering trusts. Patrice also assists with deeds of variation and provides support to clients navigating probate and estate administration. Where disputes arise, she has experience in helping clients work through contested matters in a sensitive and pragmatic way. She works closely with James McMullan, Partner and Head of Private Client

Patrice has a particular interest in supporting clients through deputyship applications and the wider issues surrounding mental capacity. She recognises the challenges faced by families in these situations and aims to deliver advice that is both clear and empathetic.

As a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Patrice is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards in her work. Her membership reflects not only her technical knowledge but also her dedication to providing practical, client-focused solutions in what can often be complex and emotional circumstances.
