What is a dormant company?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A dormant company is one that has no significant accounting transactions during a financial year, typically meaning that it doesn\u2019t conduct business or generate income. Many businesses choose to register as dormant to maintain their company\u2019s legal status while deferring active operations, registering a company name for future use, restructuring a company, holding fixed assets such as land awaiting a return on investments and or awaiting future ventures. While being dormant doesn\u2019t exempt a company from statutory obligations, it does reduce the complexity of ongoing filing requirements.
