Omer Soomro is based in Karachi and handles all kinds of corporate and civil litigation, as well as white-collar crime proceedings. He also acts on constitutional law matters at the High Courts of Pakistan.
Omer has represented clients in commercial arbitration, locally and overseas. He has been involved in a wide variety of cases before the High Court of Sindh, including matters relating to insurance, pharmaceuticals, customs, sales tax, intellectual property and the National Accountability Bureau.
He also has a particular focus on energy-related litigation and New Captive Power Producers.
Additionally, he has been involved in drafting legislation, such as The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Ordinance, 2006, and was the principal advisor for the first Islamic compliant lottery scheme, which was a joint collaboration between foreign investors and the Pakistan Sports Trust.
