Haseeb is an associate at RIAA Barker Gillette, based in Islamabad. He advises various participants and stakeholders in Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure sectors, including investors, generation companies, distribution companies, EPC contractors and the government.
Haseeb advises power and infrastructure projects with practical and industry-oriented advice in relation to their contractual matters, corporate matters, regulatory compliance and disputes. He regularly assists clients with negotiations relating to international EPC and O&M matters and has advised clients on a number of acquisitions as well. He also advises local and international lenders on project finance matters relating to power projects.
Haseeb has drafted and negotiated concession agreements, power purchase agreements, fuel purchase agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, share purchase agreements and shareholder agreements.
Haseeb regularly liaises with sector regulators like the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and has assisted various clients with their licence applications, tariff applications, pre-merger approval applications and corporate filings.
