Carly Aitchison

Solicitor

Carly Aitchison joined RIAA Barker Gillette as a paralegal in 2014, gaining valuable hands-on experience in various legal disciplines. At the same time, she diligently studied to become a solicitor, reaching that goal in March 2020.

Carly is a member of our dispute resolution team and works substantially with partners Laura St-Gallay and Stuart Jacobs on property litigation matters. Carly also assists our head of dispute resolution M. Qaiser Khanzada on wider commercial and civil litigation matters.

Carly supports all forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), ranging from direct negotiations to mediation. Carly’s clients include mid-tier companies and their officers to insolvency practitioners, and high-net-worth individuals.

Carly Aitchison is a member of the Property Litigation Association (PLA).

Civil and commercial litigation

Carly Aitchison has dealt with all stages of litigation from pre-action protocols to interim applications and all the way through to trial in both the County Court and the High Court. Carly focuses largely on civil and commercial contractual disputes.

Personal and corporate insolvency

Insolvency work includes acting for debtors and creditors in both personal and corporate insolvency proceedings in the County Court and the High Court.

Property litigation

Property litigation work includes breaches of contract, breaches of covenants and all manner of landlord and tenant disputes in the County Courts, High Court and Land Tribunal.
